Winter wonderland

When the icicles on the farmhouse roofs hang down to the ground and snow flakes lay like a layer of sugar over the Wildschönau, it's the time for long walks in the crystal clear air through breathtaking winter scenery.

Winter walking is an alternative to skiing and paths are cleared regularly. For more of a challenge we recommend a snow shoe trek across untouched snowfields. Guided tours are available. Ask at the reception for more information.

 

Winter sport

There are a multitude of sporting possibilities. A total of 109 km of pistes can be found in the Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau, one of Tirol's top 10 ski resorts. But sport and fun are not confined to daylight hours. Floodlit night skiing and tobogganing take place right next door to the hotel  on the Roggenboden slopes twice a week.

The Wildschönau Valley is also excellent terrain for ski mountaineering. Ask at reception for information on the best routes.

We can also boast a snowboard and freestyle fun park on the Schatzberg Mountain in Auffach, the Race'n Boarder Arena in Niederau, classic cross country tracks and several toboggan runs. Horse riding is also available during your Wildschönau winter holiday.
